Drone 2
This is a quick piece I did today based on some techniques I learned in a lecture by Scott Robertson on the Youtubes:

It's a levitating surveilance drone, capable of apprehending intruders and neutralizing them with its tranquilizer delivery system. Model kitbash and Photoshop CS 5.5

War of the Worlds (a birthday speedpaint)
Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone! I'm so blessed to have so many great friends :)
This is a speed-paint from last night, touched up slightly this afternoon. For my birthday, my fiancee and I (and the Fiasco Crew ;) ) listened to the old radio broadcast of The War of the Worlds, the idea being to listen to the descriptions and sketch/paint from imagination. Way fun.

Mechs, Spaceships, and– Cats?
Feng Zhu, one of my heroes, suggested in a "Design Cinema' episode to design things in threes. The idea is to maintain the same visual language between them. His example involved spaceships of different classes, but designed by the same race. Here I tried it out, attempting to design 3 ships as different classes from the same alien armada:
This one is separate. It was originally designed vertically, with an engine that pulls instead of pushes, but I kind of like it tipped on its side as well:
sideways it seems kind of bug-like . . . :)
Last, kind of a giant tripod-dog mech :)
