David/ My first 3D Print!
The original ZBrush Model of David (his story can be found here).
The MakerBot: Replicator 2, the Harold b. Lee Library's new 3D Printer
David before the removal of his supports
Final cleanup!
The pouch and sling were too thin for this printer; they were reproduced,
but were fragile and came off with the supports. A 3D printer that prints
with wax supports, like the one in BYU's Crabtree building, might have
more of a chance at preserving those kind of details.

ZBrush! :D
I just barely started working in ZBrush, and I'm still a total newb at it, but learning a little more every day :) This was a speedsculpt ( a little under an hour) from the open figure drawing session today using zspheres and sculpting tools, no template. I think I slapped chrome on it because I'm still excited about all the nifty ZBrush features . . . kind of like the first-time birthday party video editor who uses a different and more obnoxious transition on every cut (link). Okeedoke, off to class! :)

First day of gesture class!
Today was the first day of Ryan Woodward's gesture drawing class, which I have been wanting to get into for 2 years lol– I'm so psyched! We had a sub today, the incredibly talented Cynthia Hogan, who was incidentally my very first figure drawing teacher :) It was a blast. Here are a few of my favorite sketches from the session:
Lol my buddy Mitch (plug!) started drawing some of the poses as Marvel Avengers in honor of the movie coming out next week. He did hulk, so I decided to do iron man lol:

Capoeira Club Live sketch
Sketching from life with a friend on tuesday at BYU Capoeira club. These were a few of my favorites :)
I love to sketch the figure in motion. There is a music to it, a grip to the action, whether it's sports, dance, or a little kid playing in the sandbox. It's hard to capture, and even when you do you only capture one interpretation, but its incredibly satisfying when a little life drips from your pen. Capoeira is all about motion, it's a beautiful martial art to "play" (in capoerista terms) and also incredibly fulfilling to sketch.
