Robot Silhouettes

Zbrush 4R6 and Photoshop CS5

  1. Interesting. I haven't used ZBrush to do painting stuff. It's neat to see the use of the symmetry in design. That gets tricky. I quite like the last one on both the second and third rows. Are you planning on pushing the designs on any of these?

    1. Thanks! Though you can paint in zbrush, these were created with the symmetrical use of insert brushes. It looks like flat black painting because I used a flat black shader, but the images are actually 3 dimensional. I got the idea from a guy who works at legacy effects. Basically, I built a four-limbed armature and slapped parts onto it, then pulled the shapes and proportions around until I liked them. It's a great way to quickly develop shapes you might not have thought of otherwise. In answer to your question, yes, I am going to take at least one design farther. The goal is to build and render a finished athletic suit for Justin's class. It's good to hear from you!
